Emergency services arrived to find the men, aged 22 and 21, with critical injuries.
Two men have tragically lost their lives on a rural main road outside well-known tourist town Hahndorf on Sunday night
The Holden car the men were travelling in left the road and crashed into a gum tree near Hahndorf Football Club on Echunga Rd at Paechtown about 5pm.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to find the driver and his passenger with critical injuries.
Sadly, the 22-year-old man from Angle Park and his 21-year-old passenger from Prospect died at the scene.
Major Crash investigators arrived to examine the cause of the crash and check whether speed was a factor.
The driver and passenger’s deaths are the 26th and 27th lives lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
