This federal commission has ignited a firestorm with MAGA circles and left democrats concerned who have lost faith in Musk and his growing power in politics. His stance on high-skill immigration is rather controversial and polarized him from fractured conservative factions.

With Musk’s influence extending well past the US borders, he has hit European politics alike where he has made insensitive comments on issues like immigration in the UK and France. He went as far as to call for King Charles III to dissolve Parliament. Musk additionally alleged support for the far-right AD party in Germany which is known for extremist views, respectively drawing criticism from Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
The European Union has stepped forward and made a power play against Elon Musk as well, threatening him with penalties under its Digital Services Act if his platform X (formerly Twitter) fails to comply with better and stricter content moderation rules. If he ignores their warnings, he may face hefty fines or temporary bans.

Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion. It remains to this day, one of his most contentious decisions, where he completely rebranded, the company as X. He additionally rolled out several series of policy changes which sparked a tangent of anti-Semitic and racist tweets.
In fact, this happened so fast that over 1200 anti-Semitic posts were shared, increasing the use of racial slurs to 500% according to the Anti-Defamation League. He added fuel to the fire by sharing conspiracies which left critics accusing him of amplifying far-right narratives. One such incident was the infamous, now-deleted tweet about the 2022 attack on Paul Pelosi.

‘Funding Secured’ Post
In 2018, Musk tweeted claiming he had “funding secured” to privatize Tesla at $420 per share. It sparked a legal debate where shareholders ended up suing when evidence emerged that no concrete financial backing actually existed. A U.S. District Judge ruled that he acted recklessly which in turn caused Tesla investors to lose $12 billion in a shocking 10 days. The kicker? He was eventually found not liable for their losses.
Mocking Pronouns
Elon Musk has always had rather controversial opinions regarding his view on gender identity. He has previously mocked pronouns by tweeting “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” targeting Dr. Anthony Fauci for his decisions on how the COVID-19 pandemic was handled.
Musk’s comment drew negative attention from many public figures, including Senator Mark Kelly. He condemned his attacks on not only a marginalized community but a dedicated public servant. In 2023, the gaming world came after Elon Musk when he was accused of using cheats in Diablo IV. He recently came under fire again when he claimed he was a professional Path of Exile 2 player, but when he allowed his viewers to build him a custom character, he openly failed dramatically on stream, again proving he falsified his claims.
